Weekly Masonic Reflection: March 25, 2026.
THE COVENANT PATH: “But those who do not obey or practice what they learn, but walk in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their hearts, shall go backward and not forward.”
Dear Brethren, with these solemn words GOD reminds us that knowledge alone, does not elevate a man, only its faithful application does. To learn, yet fail to practice, is to stand still; to resist discipline is to move backward. Masonry stands as one of the oldest covenant path known to man. It awakens the initiate to the reality that he does not walk this earthly journey alone, and that his life is bound by sacred obligation to the Grand Architect of the Universe. Through its teachings, man comes to understand that his existence is not accidental, but deliberate, and that he is an essential part of a Grand Design, called to fulfill a noble destiny.
Masonry reveals the nature of man’s true adversaries, anger, ignorance, passion, pride, greed. It also equips man with the tools necessary to labor upon himself, to become his own master, and to shape his character in accordance with divine principles. On the other hand, Freemasonry is the institution that guards these ancient mysteries, preserving the teachings, symbols, and rituals, and passing them unaltered from one generation to the next. Freemasonry can initiate a man, but it cannot transform him. The rituals can instruct, but they cannot compel obedience. The covenant binds the conscience, but it is the individual who must act.
The Grand Architect does not reward Freemasonic membership, nor He honors the freemason, but the faithful labor of a Mason who truly lives according to the principles we profess, and becomes a new self, refined morally, elevated intellectually, and awakened spiritually. Freemasons must become Masons or their membership would be worthless in the eyes of God.
Fraternally yours, the Presidency of the Society of Light.
Signed in spirit and truth.
